We’re so glad to have had the opportunity to participate in Coastal Living’s 2017 Idea House, located in Newport, Rhode Island. As a sponsor, we were among the first to tour the home, and it was a truly exciting opportunity!

As well, we were honored to team up with California designer, Mark D. Sikes, along with other notable vendors and sponsors, to bring this gorgeous coastal home to life. We’re thrilled that the rear terraces of the home feature custom-made lanterns we designed specifically for it.

Revisiting Blue and White

We hope you like the color blue!  We agree there’s no better combination than blue and white for a nautically-inspired coastal home.

The home doesn’t simply display these colors though – it practically reinvents the way you’ll want to use the combo in your own home. With a variety of unique patterns and textures, blue and white come together in bold, brilliant ways. And you’ll not only see these colors within the home’s interior but on the exterior as well. The results are amazing and definitely inspiring, especially if you’re considering a coastal theme for your own home.

Are you ready for your own personal tour of the 2017 Coastal Living Idea House? Great, let’s go!

A Tour of the 2017 Coastal Living Idea House

The Front Entrance

Welcome to this year’s Idea House!

Coastal Living Idea House Living Room

The Living Room

Open-layout great rooms combining the living, dining, and kitchen areas are a new beach house standard.

The key is to keep it simple,” says Sikes. “Ensuring each room relates well to the others and appears cohesive is always my top priority.

Coastal Living Idea House Kitchen

The Kitchen

The incredibly beautiful cabinetry was done by Wellborn Cabinet, Inc.  The colors really pop, and its easy on the eye.

Coastal Living Idea House Master Bedroom

The Master Bedroom

Since the master bedroom is oriented toward the sea, Sikes chose patterns and colors for an overall design that harmonizes beautifully with the water.

Loft Studio

With plenty of windows and natural light, this loft studio inspires creativity and productivity.

Game Room

“My approach to the basement was to make it so cozy and functional that it lures everyone downstairs,” says Sikes…  It’s perfect for billiards, a game of cards or simply socializing.

Media Room

Whether you’re planning a binge-watching marathon for a crowd or a quiet at-home movie date, the media room will accommodate you.

Dining Terrace

The outdoor living spaces of the Idea House is just as charming as the interior. Being able to dine alfresco is always fun.
